Milton Klatt, 62, of Crawford was pronounced dead at the scene of a single-vehicle accident at mile marker 32 on Highway 92. The accident occurred shortly before 11 p.m. Sept. 3.

The Colorado State Patrol reports that Klatt's 2005 Dodge 2500 pickup was traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound on Highway 92. Klatt reportedly lost control of the vehicle as it rounded a slight righthand curve. The Dodge traveled off the right side of the road and onto the roadside where it struck several signs, delineator posts and fence posts as it rolled several times. Klatt, the unrestrained driver and sole occupant of the Dodge was ejected during the roll sequence.

Alcohol is being investigated, and will be tested by the coroner. Excessive speed is also being investigated.
