Alice Mae Sanburg died April 4, 2018, at Horizons Care Center in Eckert. She was 89.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 13, at Eckert Presbyterian Church with Rev. Nancy Howarth officiating.
She was born on Aug. 6, 1928, in Fort Morgan to Floyd and Olive (Mendenhall) Frost. She moved from Fort Morgan to Cedaredge when she was 6. She attended Cedaredge High School and earned her bachelor's degree in education, starting at Mesa Junior College.
On Nov. 28, 1946, she married Albert "Lynn" Sanburg. They shared 66 years of marriage before his death on Sept. 15, 2012.
Mrs. Sanburg was a homemaker, mother, rancher, school teacher and secretary. She was a member of the Eckert Presbyterian Church and Spruce Chapter #129 OES Social Order of Beauceant, and Delta County Farm and Livestock Bureau.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, wildflowers and making quilts by hand.
She is survived by her sons, Rolf Sanburg and Hugh Sanburg of Eckert; brothers, Lee Frost of Grand Junction and Vern Frost of Cedaredge; sisters, Velma Hodges of Grand Junction and Joyce Frey of Eckert; and one granddaughter, Caisa of Jonesboro, Ark.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn; brothers, Dorman and Dale Frost; and an infant daughter, Laurel.
