Hotchkiss girls, Paonia duo to state XC meet

The Bulldogs are going back to state.

The Hotchkiss girls' cross country team placed three runners in the top 15 and finished second in the 2A Region 4 race last Friday at Confluence Park in Delta, qualifying for a return to this weekend's state championship race in Colorado Springs.

Physics students put buoyancy to the test

Using just corrugated cardboard and duct tape, science students from across Delta County demonstrated the physics of buoyancy at Bill Heddles Recreation Center last week.

The "boats" could not exceed four feet in width and eight feet in length, and they had to fit through the doorway.
