The Cedaredge boys are near the middle of the standings in 2A District 5 play with a 2-0 league mark and 5-3 overall.
Last week's games were against Meeker and Rangely. The Bruins knocked off Meeker, 60-45, and slipped past Rangely, 48-41.
Disabled veterans will have more local opportunities to enjoy the area's outdoor opportunities after receiving more than $1,300 from the Dec. 10 Wounded Warrior Dodgeball tournament at Paonia High School. The annual event has raised more than $5,500 since it began in 2012, according to event organizer Kriss Allen.

The Hotchkiss-Crawford Historical Society is now in its 41st year of existence and has a lot of plans for 2016. The board of directors held its monthly meeting Monday and talked about some of those plans.
Recent sub-freezing temperatures have left layers of ice over area lakes and reservoirs, including Crawford Reservoir, where ice fishing is in full swing. Ice anglers are reporting catching all of the species known to be in the reservoir, including yellow perch, black crappie, rainbow trout, channel catfish, pike, large-mouth bass and carp, according to a Colorado Parks and Wildlife spokesperson.
The Paonia Planning Commission will hold a public hearing regarding the proposed Silver Leaf cohousing project beginning at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, at Paonia Town Hall.
