Delta hosted Palisade's Bulldogs last Friday afternoon for what may have been a title-deciding baseball game in 4A WSL play.

The Panthers knocked off Glenwood Springs, 17-5 on Wednesday and then came back for a 14-10 decision over Palisade on Friday.

Delta Middle School puts out a helping hand

Using about nine bucks worth of materials, technology students at Delta Middle School tapped into the potential of 3D printing to produce a prosthetic hand for a fellow classmate.

"We've only had this 3D printer for about a month, but the kids are already doing amazing things with it," said their teacher, James Hughes.

As happens twice a year, the Hotchkiss town council welcomed members of the Hotchkiss High School Student Council at the April 14 town meeting. Students partook in the proceedings and witnessed the swearing in of trustees James Roberts and Larry Jakubiak and John Marta.

Senior citizens are honored

The senior members of a community are keepers of so much knowledge and experience about life and all that pertains to it that taking one day to honor them would seem like a reasonable service.

On April 13, 17 members of the Surface Creek Valley community who are 90 years old and older were guests of honor with their family members at a banquet hosted by the Surface Creek Senior Citizens.
