Taylor Bess had the opportunity to participate in an outstanding internship at Garnet Mesa Elementary School under the direction of fourth grade teacher Mrs. Rover. Taylor was an active part of the classroom daily, working with students and the teaching staff.

The Paonia Eagles held off a seventh-inning rally by the Peyton Panthers to win their second straight Class 2A baseball title Saturday at Pueblo. The win capped off a 10-game winning streak and a 23-2 season.

Seventh inning run ends Bulldogs shot at state title

The chance for an all-North Fork state baseball championship game came to a close Saturday when the top-seeded Peyton Panthers scored a seventh-inning run to defeat fourth-seeded Hotchkiss semifinals, 4-3.

"It was a good baseball game," said head coach Blake Carlquist.

DHS grads reflect on hardships, success

On Wednesday evening, May 23, 113 Delta High School graduates marched down the field at Panther Stadium to begin the 120th commencement ceremony.

After assistant principal Rosie Johnson welcomed friends and family to the evening's program, Derek Carlson, principal, introduced the co-salutatorian speakers with GPAs of 4.2, Alexia Quinn and Lucy Streich.

Audience members stood and cheered Thursday, May 24, as Cedaredge High School 2018 graduates marched into the school gymnasium to the traditional "Pomp and Circumstance."

Willyn Webb, executive director of Vision Charter Academy, began the school's commencement ceremony by recognizing Darci Hellman, guidance specialist, for planning and coordinating the event. Graduation was held at the Delta Performing Arts Center on May 23 and began at 5 p.m.
