Open house honors McGarvins on 60th wedding anniversary

An open house is planned Saturday, Aug. 11, to honor Bob and Arlene McGarvin on their 60th wedding anniversary. Their two daughters invite friends and former co-workers to the open house at the Presbyterian Church of Delta, 135 4th Street, from 1:30 to 5 p.m. No gifts, please.

Rutans celebrate golden anniversary

Alan and Terry Rutan are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with a come-and-go reception for family and friends Sunday, Aug. 12, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Bill Heddles Recreation Center in Delta.

Alan and Terry were married Aug. 11, 1968, at the Cedaredge Seventh-day Adventist Church.

The Cedaredge farmers market has been resurrected. As recently as last year, an artisan and farmers market existed on East Main Street. But over time there were more arts and crafts on display than produce and the effort was discontinued.
