Young artists Landon Brown, sixth grade, and Easton Medrano, age 2, participated in the Kidz Corner activities sponsored by Starr's Guitars at the First Friday Art Walk on June 2.

Local artists displayed their creative talents and their works along Main Street in Cedaredge as the second of the summer season's Art Walk events hosted by the Chamber of Commerce took place on Friday, June 2.

Starr's Guitars sponsored a youth activity on the Chamber office porch. Young artists applied their own artistic talents to clay flower pots and then completed the work by planting them with donated plants that were provided.

Photography seemed to be an art medium growing in popularity as several displays of works by local photographers were set up on Main Street. Painters showed their work also and vendors provided refreshments for Art Walk visitors.

A full variety of local art works were on display at two participating art galleries: The AppleShed and ImpressionZ.

Other business participating sponsors of the event were Annie's Pizzeria, Stacy's on Main, Millennium Wellness, and 4B's Brewery.

The Art Walk events are taking place on the first Friday of each month through September.

They are a way for local artists to get public exposure to their works and serve as an incentive for people to visit downtown on Friday evenings.

For more information on the First Friday Art Walks, call the Cedaredge Area Chamber of Commerce at 856-6961.
