Noah Gastelum, 13, of Palisade was killed in a rollover accident involving a John Deere Gator Saturday, Aug. 26. The accident occurred on private property on Stony Creek Road outside of Hotchkiss at about 6:30 p.m.
The Delta County Sheriff's Office reports that three juveniles were in the Gator when it tipped off. A second teen was airlifted to St. Mary's where he was treated and released. A third juvenile, believed to be from Clifton, was not seriously injured.
On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
