Banjira

Banjira performs at the Chapel of the Cross in Cedaredge Sunday, July 22, at 4 p.m.

Banjira's musical mix includes a blend of raw claw hammer banjo, Peruvian cajon, Zimbabwean mbira, various hand percussion, and a medley of soulful original lyrics and traditional songs from the U.S., Africa and beyond.

Core members Sunny Morehouse and Eric Baumheier have been playing music together for several years in various groups of different styles. They formed a band together to deepen their study and experience of bringing traditional African musical idioms together with modern ideas, lyrics and styles, and to share the joy they experience through music with others!

Other members include Aja McAdams on percussion and back-up vocals, and Dylan Fixmer on mandolin, trumpet and vocals.
