The county commissioners extended agreements with other entities for delivery of services at their April 16 meeting.
They signed a grant agreement with Colorado Department of Local Affairs in the amount of $58,334 for the Tri-County Federal Lands Coordination project. The grant enables the hiring of a consultant to assist Delta, Mesa and Montrose counties with engaging in federal land use processes. The project is funded by Colorado Energy and Mineral Impact Assistance Fund.
Payment of $18,332.32 was approved to Delta Housing Authority, reimbursing costs incurred in rehabilitation of the authority's housing stock during March 2018. Funding comes from the State Community Development Block Grant, which benefits the counties of Delta, Montrose, Ouray, Gunnison, Hinsdale and San Miguel.
Delta County, along with Ouray, San Miguel, Gunnison, Hinsdale and Montrose counties, entered into a purchase of services agreement with Midwestern Colorado Mental Health Center to provide mental health services through May 31, 2019.
Contract services will include assessing the needs of children and their families. Psychiatrists with training in child and adolescent and adult psychiatry will be available to provide psychiatric assessments and medications monitoring to counties' referrals.
The commissioners approved a contract with Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment for immunization core services. The contract amount is $14,721, consisting of $9,460 in federal funds and $5,261 in state funding, and runs through June 30, 2019.
Delta County Health Department will provide core immunization services to improve the health of county residents.
Delta Volunteer Fire Department (DVFD) will be holding its annual fireworks show at Confluence Park on Wednesday, July 4, having received approval from Delta City Council at the council's June 5 meeting.
The DVFD has 28 volunteers and expects to have eight to 10 firefighters from Cedaredge join them this year.
