Cedaredge ended the dual season Friday with a 10-5 record after defeating the Cowboys, 58-19, at Meeker. "I think it was good for our boys to end the season on a win," said head coach Cutter Garrison. "The guys wrestled well."
Of the nine matches wrestled, the Bruins won five. At 120, freshman Trey Geyer, ranked first in the state, pinned number three Jacob Pelloni in the final seconds of the first period for the win.
At 120, Colton Hoerr won by fall over Meeker's Jacob Shelton, and at 160, Jered Hulteen won by fall over Meeker's James Amick.
At 170, Drew Markley won by major decision over Colby Clatterbaugh, and at 182, Toby Waddell pinned Kesston Hobbs.
Meeker won three consecutive matches starting at 132 with Garret Frantz winning by an 8-2 decision over Alex McCracken.
At 138, No. 1-ranked Tannen Kennedy won by fall over Dakota Williams, and at 145, Tevin Pelloni was the match winner by way of a fall over Zach Nold.
At 195, Meeker's Ridge Williams won by major decision over David Lopez.
