Candace A. "Candy" Parrish died May 20, 2018, at her home in Delta.
She was born Sept. 10, 1952, to Arther and Hazel (Dyer) Bauer in Brawley, Calif.
She worked as a dispatcher for truck drivers, a truck driver, office worker and caregiver. In 2006 she received her nursing degree.
She enjoyed sandy beaches, water skiing, sewing, going to thrift stores and socializing with friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Brian Bauer.
She is survived by her husband, Ray Parrish; sister, Dessie Bauer; two sons, Dean (Lisa) Parrish and David Smart; two daughters, Deanna (David) Margo and Vicki (John) Hovey; six grandchildren, Gavin Parrish, Emma Parrish, Bobby Hovey (Shelly Gregory), Crystal (Wayne) Sharkey, Cameron and Tori Hovey; and six great-grandchildren.
The family will hold services Friday, June 1, at 3 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Delta.
A dinner and balloon release will follow at Heaven's View Apartments, 1445 Porter Court, Delta.
Delta Volunteer Fire Department (DVFD) will be holding its annual fireworks show at Confluence Park on Wednesday, July 4, having received approval from Delta City Council at the council's June 5 meeting.
The DVFD has 28 volunteers and expects to have eight to 10 firefighters from Cedaredge join them this year.
