David Starr's new CD release, "Love and Sabotage," is available now.
The Cedaredge musician is planning a local release event on Feb. 5 and 6. It is to take place at Munson's Main Street Gallery. According to organizers, it will include a copy of the new CD and a glass of local wine for $25. The number for Munson's is 856-6070.
David gives fans some behind-the-scenes insights into his new CD in the following recent posting:
"My 'Love And Sabotage' CD was just released and the journey to produce that same CD project put me in close proximity with some very talented players, singers and songwriters.
"The CD includes some of the best studio players and singers that Nashville, Denver and Aspen have to offer. And I'm honored to be joined by three members of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame; John Oates, Richie Furay and Steve Cropper.
"The new CD is now available for download on iTunes. I hope you'll take a moment to click on over there and check it out. If you would like an actual disc, just go to CD Baby or the Starr's Guitars site and we'll make sure one is in the mail to you."
David notes some recent new activities in his musical enterprise.
"As 2016 begins, I'm pleased to announce lots of tour dates. [I'm] off to my home state of Arkansas for shows in Fayetteville, Springdale and Little Rock. The road rolls on from there with dates in Colorado, Texas, California, Wyoming, Montana and the UK later in 2016. I'm even opening for the iconic Marshall Tucker Band in Texas in April."
The clock is ticking. The Delta Urban Renewal Authority (DURA) has 120 days to reach agreement with the taxing entities it's asking to help fund a gateway project near the intersection of Highways 50 and 92. Half that time has elapsed, and there is no Plan B, city manager David Torgler emphasized during a meeting with taxing entities Monday.
