The Cedaredge Board of Trustees will consider moving into Stage II drought restrictions at its Thursday, June 21, regular meeting. The meeting begins at 5 p.m. in the Grand Mesa Room of the Cedaredge Civic Center.
Stage II restrictions call for temporary water rate increases for usage over 10,000 gallons. Outdoor watering restrictions and banning the sale and use of fireworks is also included in the restrictions. If trustees approve Stage II, the restrictions would be effective on June 25; utility customers will see the rate increase reflected on their July usage, which is billed at the end of July.
The draft resolution is available for review at town hall, and the public is invited to attend the June 21 meeting to hear the discussion and comment during constituent time.
On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
Several people from the North Fork were present to provide input.
