At about 1:21 a.m. Aug. 23, a vehicle plowed into the side of the Stockyards Restaurant at 1205 Main Street. The driver struck the concrete patio wall, propelling cement blocks and breaking the restaurant's windows. Friends and employees quickly arrived to help owners Dianne Mannon and Jeri Roberts clean up the mess inside the restaurant. They say a driver headed northbound on Highway 50 crossed over the southbound lanes and into the restaurant. He reportedly fell asleep. The Delta Police Department issued a citation to the driver, identified as Cain Hunt, 22, of Montrose. Cedaredge Police Department K9 unit assisted with the execution of a search warrant on Hunt's vehicle. Mannon and Roberts said this is the fourth time in 18 years the restaurant has been hit by a vehicle.
