Donna J. Heronemus of Delta died Aug. 4, 2018, at Willow Tree Care Center. She was 90.
She was born in Jetmore, Kan., April 13, 1928, to Jens and Nellie (Sloan) Anderson. She spent her childhood in Jetmore where she attended school. She graduated from Jetmore High School in 1946. She was given the nickname "Johnny," which friends and family still use.
On May 5, 1946, she married Leroy Heronemus in Dodge City, Kan.
She enjoyed music, boating, Native American art and culture and ranching. She had four children and fostered 27 more.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Jane) Heronemus, Stevan Heronemus, Gary (Carla) Heronemus and Darla (Eric) Yockey; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Leroy; two infant sisters; two brothers; and one great-granddaughter.
