Glenna Catura Justin died Sept. 27, 2017, at her home in Delta. She was 89.
She was born in Paonia to Iva (Etier) and Thomas Harris on Sept. 9, 1928.
In 1947, she married Tony Justin. They lived in Somerset while he worked at the coal mine in Somerset. They moved to Paonia in 1959.
After Mrs. Justin's children were raised, she worked for the Delta County Telephone Company. The Justins wintered in Mesa, Ariz., for several years after retirement and finally settled in Delta in 1990 to be closer to family.
She was a member of St. Michael's and Sacred Heart Catholic Churches. She enjoyed spending time with family and going for weekend drives in the Colorado mountains.
Mrs. Justin is survived by her children, Toni (Art) Morris of Mesa, Ariz., and Vicki (John) Musser, Tom Justin and Kevin (Donna Harville) Justin, all of Delta; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Sara McCabe of Denver; Joyce (Steve) Martin of Green Valley, Ariz., and Jim (Marlene) Harris of Grand Junction; and brother-in-law, Ed Henderson of Montrose.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Justin, in 2013; brother, Russell Harris; and sister, Betty (Edward) Henderson.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Crippin Funeral Home is handling arrangements
On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
