Longtime Paonia resident Goldie Taylor died March 3, 2017, at her home. She was 83.
Graveside services were held March 10 at Bethlehem Cemetery in Paonia.
She was born Sept. 11, 1933, to Mr. and Mrs. Lily in Price, Utah. She spent her childhood in Price and graduated from school there.
On June 24, 1951, she married Doyle Taylor in Price, Utah. They lived in Dragerton, Utah, until 1963, when they moved to Paonia. Mr. Taylor died March 1, 2004.
Mrs. Taylor was a member of Paonia United Methodist Church, Hotchkiss Elks Lodge #1807 and the Emblem Club. She enjoyed arts and crafts, fishing, the outdoors and gardening.
She is survived by her children, Terry (Michele) Taylor of Pawhuska, Okla., and Patty (Tom) Golinski of Port Ludlow, Wash.; brothers, Angelo (Galene) Marakis of East Carbon, Utah, and Ted (Shirley) Marakis of Salt Lake City, Utah; sister, Bessie Pressett of East Carbon, Utah; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The Delta Urban Renewal Authority (DURA) has 120 days to reach agreement with the taxing entities it's asking to help fund a gateway project near the intersection of Highways 50 and 92. Half that time has elapsed, and there is no Plan B, city manager David Torgler emphasized during a meeting with taxing entities Monday.
