Grace Community Church of Crawford will celebrate its first public worship at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, March 12, at Crawford Town Hall. Pastor Jeff Peed, his wife Jennifer and their four children have moved to Crawford, called by God to plant a church. "We have planted our lives here, working local jobs and doing the work God has called us to do," Pastor Jeff said. "Here at Grace Community Church, we seek to offer the same grace and mercy to others that God has shown us through Jesus Christ. We also offer adult small group Bible study in our home on Tuesday nights from 7 to 8:30."

On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
