Rich Perske, who retired after 34 years with the Colorado Department of Transportation, will present an oral history presentation on the construction of I-70 through western Colorado. His presentation takes place Thursday, July 19, noon to 1 p.m. at the Whitman Educational Center, 248 S. 4th Street, Grand Junction.
Perske is a member of the Eagle County Historical Society and helped author a book, "Boom Town to Ghost Town The Story of Fulford." The book details early mining and rail transportation in Eagle County and the ghost town of Fulford.
This program is jointly sponsored by the Museums of Western Colorado and the Mesa County Historical Society and is free and open to the public. Please feel free to bring a lunch. Coffee and cookies will be served.
