It's Homecoming week at Hotchkiss High School -- a time for students to show their school spirit through dress-up days, class games, and athletic competitions.

Monday was Tourist Day, and Tuesday was Athlete Day. Spirit Week continues Wednesday with Twin Day (which witch is which?). Thursday is Theme Day: freshmen, Trolls; sophomores, The Nightmare Before Christmas; juniors, Ghost Busters; and seniors, Creepy Circus. On Friday, students and staff will be decked out in Bulldog red and white.

Special activities include a barbecue, peach fuzz volleyball, powder puff football and a bonfire Thursday beginning at 5:30 p.m. A lip sync contest is also scheduled for Thursday, with both teachers and students invited to compete for a cash prize.

A parade is scheduled Friday at 1 p.m., prior to the volleyball games at 4 and 5 p.m. and the football game at 7 p.m. The volleyball team takes on Soroco, while Grand Valley travels to Hotchkiss for the Homecoming football game.

Earlier in the day, the cross-country team will be at Confluence Park in Delta.

On Saturday, the volleyball team faces North Park at 1 p.m. (junior varsity) and 2 p.m. (varsity).

A festive week of Homecoming traditions wraps up with a dance Saturday night at 8 p.m.
