Photo by Annette Brand Ralph Mangum pulls a string to ring the wind chimes dedicated in memory of his brother David.Wind chimes were dedicated in memory of David Mangum Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Delta County Historical Museum. The plaque for the dedication commemorates David Mangum's love of music, his long tenure as organist for the Presbyterian Church of Delta, and his gifts of time and energy given generously to the greater Delta community through music, drama and exploring local history.

At the time of his death, Mangum was president of the museum board of trustees.

Museum director Jim Wetzel commented about the value of Mangum's service to the museum, his church and the community at large. There being no wind stirring, Ralph Mangum, David's older brother, rang the chimes in memory of David. Rev. Alisa Secrest, pastor of Presbyterian Church of Delta, gave a prayer of dedication.

David Mangum's family and friends informally shared memories of their relationships with David. Bernice Musser was heard recalling David as a little boy, before he developed his command of the organ and piano, coming to her house to play piano duets with her. Some of those attending vigorously rang all the historic bells in the museum yard as a tribute to David.
