Colorado Parks and Wildlife is looking for volunteer camp hosts for the 2013 summer season. Being a camp host is a great way to spend the summer enjoying the outdoors and helping out at wildlife areas, hatcheries or campgrounds.
Camp hosts are expected to perform a variety of light duties in exchange for free camping. Work duties vary by location. In most situations, camp hosts are expected to meet and greet visitors, answer questions and help keep the location clean.
Camp hosts are able to enjoy hiking, wildlife viewing, camping, fishing and other outdoor activities in addition to helping state park, hatchery and state wildlife area staff in a diversity of settings.
Qualified volunteers are needed at Paonia State Park and Sweitzer State Park. Full hookups are available. Hosts are required to work at least 20 hours a week; holidays and weekends are mandatory.
At Paonia, two hosts are needed through Labor Day and must stay the entire time. Each host couple will get two consecutive days off per week.
At Sweitzer, one host is needed through October. The host will receive two consecutive days off per week.
