The Delta County Commissioners on Wednesday, July 24, rescinded the open fire restrictions that had been in place since July 1.
The BoCC found the fire restrictions no longer necessary.
County residents wanting to conduct burning operations must still call the county's burn line at 399-2955.
Separately, GMUG announced the Stage I fire restrictions which had been in effect for the Gunnison and Uncompahgre National Forests were lifted. No fire restrictions were ever enacted on Grand Mesa National Forest, due to the higher elevation, more moisture and cooler temperatures The recent monsoonal moistures, lack of human-caused fires and reduced fire potential all led to the decision to lift fire restrictions on the GMUG.blog comments powered by Disqus
