County assessor Debbie Griffith has announced that she will seek re-election to a second four-year term.
She made her announcement during the Delta County Republican Central Committee meeting on Sept. 3.
"I am entering my 2014 bid for re-election and I ask for your support," she announced at the meeting in Orchard City.
Griffith said it seems early to be announcing for a 2014 election, but state deadlines for filing and reporting make it almost a necessity, she explained.
Griffith's current term ends in 2014. She was first elected assessor in 2010. Prior to that she was appointed to complete the last year and a half of the previous assessor's term.
Before becoming county assessor in 2008, she served for 10 years as the deputy assessor for Delta County.
Griffith is a Western Slope native. She was born in Rifle and is a graduate of Cedaredge High School.
She has three grown children and lives in Cedaredge with her husband of 36 years, Jeff.blog comments powered by Disqus
