"Beach Party" was the theme for PEO Chapter GT, Delta's social meeting on Thursday, June 20. The event honoring Cedaredge High School scholarship recipient Rachael Latta took place at the Stolte Shed at Cedaredge. Rachael's mother, Nan, also attended.
Hosting were Janet Anderson, Sharon Wear, Nancy Dillon, Kris Vance and Jan Peterson.
Welcoming Latta was Crystal Dunivan, GT president. Nancy Dillon presented the $1,000 scholarship to Latta who plans to go to Colorado State University this fall.
The scholarship, given to a high school senior each May, is rotated around Delta County. In 2012, Kimberlyn Wellman of Hotchkiss High School received the scholarship to attend University of Northern Colorado, while Raveen Mulford from Delta High School received the award in 2011. The scholarship will be presented to a Paonia High School senior in 2014.
Scholarship chairman for 2013-2014 is Kathy Kolman. The committee is composed of Grace Burgevin and Evelyn Roseberry. Burgevin served as chairman of the Upscale Garage Sale held in Delta in late April to raise money for the scholarship. Attending the awards assembly at Cedaredge High School to inform Latta of the award was Claudia King, scholarship chairman for 2012-2013.
