Everett Mattausch of Austin celebrated his 100th birthday with friends and family on Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Cedaredge Seventh-day Adventist Church fellowship hall.
He was born on Sept. 29, 1913, in St. Paul Park, Minn.
While in second grade, his family moved to Zion, Ill., where Everett lived for the next 35 years. He moved to Colorado in 1959 where he met Hazel Dunbar. They were married in 1960.
He worked as a machinist, toolmaker and prototype tester, was a competitive target shooter with a rifle, and enjoyed photography. He and Hazel enjoyed backpacking and other outdoor activities. In retirement, they enjoyed traveling the world, visiting different countries on cruise ships. He is an active part of the Cedaredge Seventh-day Adventist Church.blog comments powered by Disqus
