Paonia resident Charles "Chuck" Kisselburg died April 22, 2013, at Delta County Memorial Hospital. He was 86.

Charles Luther Kisselburg was born in Marietta, Okla., Nov. 11, 1926, to Carl and Verna (Langley) Kisselburg. He spent his childhood and attended public schools in Ardmore, Okla., graduating from Ardmore High School. He served in the U.S. Navy.
He received a bachelor's degree from Durant College, South Eastern Oklahoma State University, and a master's degree from Texas A&M.
On Aug 31, 1971, he married Elma Tyler in Anthony, N.M. They lived in Crockett, Texas, until moving to Paonia 20 years ago. They celebrated 41 years of marriage.
Mr. Kisselburg was a vocational director at a Texas educational agency. He enjoyed his family, snowmobiling, hunting, building log homes and four-wheeling.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Kisselburg of Paonia; a son, David Blankenship of Glenwood Springs; a daughter, Charlotte Goodrich and husband Terry of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
