Lifetime Olathe resident Ida Archibeque died April 30, 2013, at Colorow Care Center in Olathe. She was 86.
A memorial service was held May 4 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Delta with Frank Larson presiding.
Ida Romero was born in Fort Collins Jan. 24, 1927, to Octaviano and Andrea (Martinez) Romero. She spent her childood and attended public school in Olathe, graduating from Olathe High School in 1946.
She married Felix Archibeque Dec. 22, 1946, in Montrose. They were married nearly 44 years before Felix died March 12, 1990, in Olathe.
Mrs. Archibeque enjoyed being a mother and grandmother, spending time with her family, flowers, fishing, and spending time in her garden. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Delta.
She is survived by three sons, Marshall Archibeque of Delta, Steven Archibeque of Craig and Thomas Archibeque of Montrose; two daughters, Frances Bissell of Milton, Wash., and Christie Guthrie of Pueblo West; two brothers, Toby Romero and wife Bertha of Eckert and Benjamin Romero and wife Debbie of Florissant; eight sisters, Jenny Ricord of Grand Junction, Martha Even of Pueblo, Margaret Shanklin of Milton-Freewater, Ore., Lydia Larkin and husband Roger of Spokane, Wash., Connie Hiatt and husband Clayton of Duval, Wash., Esther Scott and husband Randy of Lake Stevens, Wash., Eleanor Williams and Virginia Madrill and husband Frank, all of Pueblo; 22 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren with one on the way; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; three sisters, Mary, Julie and Maria; one brother, Jody; and three grandchildren.
