Longtime Eckert resident Edward Anderson died Aug. 2, 2013, at his home. He was 67.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Aug. 12, at St. Philip's Catholic Church in Cedaredge.
Edward Carroll Anderson was born in Grand Junction Jan. 1, 1946, to Carroll (Wells) Anderson. He grew up in Austin and attended Fairview School through the eighth grade. He graduated from Delta High School in 1964. He attended Mesa College in Grand Junction.
On Oct. 16, 1981, he married Leeta Henderson in Hotchkiss. They lived in Austin and moved to Eckert in 1984.
Mr. Anderson was a member of St. Philip's Catholic Church in Cedaredge.
He was a retired coal miner. He enjoyed being with his children and family, spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, woodburning, scrolling, farming and horses.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Leeta Anderson of Eckert; four sons, Wallie Fender and wife Johnna of Delta, Greg Fender and wife Tammy of Madison, S.D., Chad Anderson and wife, Tanya of Cedaredge, and Gerren Anderson and wife Mary Ellen of Paonia; two daughters, Tanya LaBossiere of Cedaredge and Vicki Johnson of Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother, Kaye Anderson and wife Vicki of Dove Creek; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother; two brothers; and a grandson, Junior LaBossiere.
