Marianne Mulvey died Oct. 6, 2013, at her home in Raleigh, N.C. She was 73.
Marianne Janice Smith was born in Berkeley, Calif., Sept. 30, 1940, to Melvin and Christine (Marino) Smith.
She attended school and Presentation High School in Berkeley and Barnes Business College in Oakland, Calif.
She worked as a secretary for the FBI and the district attorney's office in Oakland, was a small business owner, and worked in private industry.
She married Joseph Mulvey June 25, 1960, in Berkeley, Calif. They lived in Cedaredge from 1992 until 2008 when they moved to Raleigh, N.C. to be near family.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Joseph; her children, Timothy (Cherie) of Denver, Teresa (Donald) Simmons of Vellejo, Calif., Sean (Sarah) of Niceville, Fla., and Colleen Wixson (Nelson) of Cary, N.C.; 10 grandchildren, Monica, Timothy, Sean and Shane Mulvey, Christine (Josh) Tidrow, Andrea Simmons, Maria (Forbes/Simmons), and Kayla, Shea and Mitchell Wixson; and two great-grandchildren, Peyton and Haiden Tidrow.
