Melvin Joseph Dreher died Jan. 18, 2014, at his home in Cedaredge. He was 82.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 23, and a Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 24, both at St. Phillip's Catholic Church in Cedaredge.
Mr. Dreher was born in Hays, Kan., June 30, 1931, to John and Elizabeth (Beaker) Dreher.
He was raised on a farm in west Kansas until he was 12 years old. He graduated in Hays, Kan., in 1949.
He moved to Eckert in 1991 and to Cedaredge in 1998.
On Nov. 28, 1998, he married Marian Haley in Cedaredge.
Mr. Dreher was a member of St. Phillip's Catholic Church. He was involved with the Knights of Columbus, Delta Elks Lodge, Grand Junction Moose and Grand Junction Eagles.
He enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Marian of Cedaredge; his son, Doug Dreher of Highlands Ranch; his daughter, Jennifer (Terry) Isaacs of Aurora; four stepsons, Walter Crowley of Greeley, Patrick Crowley of Alliance, Neb., William Crowley of Chugwater, Wyo., and Alex Crowley of Cedaredge; his stepdaughter, Margaret Kline of Cedaredge; two grandchildren, Danial and Adam Isaacs; and seven stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Agnes Dreher.
