The Timber Roots distributing facility at the south end of Delta has been closed in what a company representative called "a sign of the times." The distribution facility supplied building components to ProBuild lumber yards throughout the region.
Richard Goodman, a ProBuild manager in Grand Junction, said the property on Highway 50 is being offered for sale or lease. While some layoffs did occur, other employees have relocated to ProBuild facilities in Colorado. In addition to 400 lumber yards across the nation, ProBuild operates truss shops, door shops and manufacturing facilities. ProBuild previously closed a retail facility on Highway 92, but retained the lumber yards in Montrose and Grand Junction.blog comments powered by Disqus
