On Saturday, Dec. 14, the North Fork Ambulance will be holding a "North Fork Holiday Marketplace" at Heritage Hall from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The focus is "Neighbors Helping Neighbors" and this event has an emphasis on home made, home grown and local!
The North Fork Ambulance crew will be serving a homemade soup and chili lunch with dessert for $4 per person.
Offering free booth space to local businesses, artisans, crafts people, agriculturists and other groups, this event will feature such items as local artwork, holiday crafts, quilts, local honey, jams, jellies, candles, ironwork, skin care products, soaps, lotions, pillows, bags and totes, fine art prints, fused glass jewelry, homemade gift baskets and more. Also present will be Pampered Chef, Thirty-One, Avon and Scentsy.
A big thanks to Ann Critchley of Annie's Country Cookin' for offering to bake pies and brownies at cost for the lunch! All of the homemade soup and chili will be provided by the North Fork Ambulance volunteers.
One of the booths will be sharpening knives on site. The cost will be $1 for knives up to six inches in length, $2 for knives six inches and longer.
During the day North Fork Ambulance board members, EMTs and drivers will be on hand to answer questions about membership and volunteering. An EMT class is scheduled to start in January, so anyone interested in applying for funding for the class in exchange for volunteering can sign up at the marketplace and get more information.
