An Autumn Purple Ash tree, named Steve Ash by the students, was planted in the playground area at the school. Boys and girls from all three fifth grade classes at Cedaredge Elementary School took part in a program and tree planting to celebrate Arbor Day. Even though the local event was scheduled for the first day of May, rather than in April hoping for better weather, the morning was a bit chilly on the field and playground.

Prom wonderland 2013

Paonia High School prom royalty (from left) included prince Jason Sturgis and princess Taylor Polson from the class of 2014; prom queen Chelsy Reed and prom king Garrett Park; and honorary prom king, Dave Burns. The theme of this year’s prom was “Alice in Wonderland.” Chelsy made her dress from duct tape, and won a blue ribbon for it at the Delta County Fair.
