Surface Creek giving

The semiannual food drive for the Surface Creek Community Services Food Bank took place in conjunction with the Cedaredge Mercantile last Saturday. Food Bank board members Jean Weisbeck, Ken Black and Marcy Peterson were on hand Saturday morning and told the DCI that the Surface Creek area is a generous supporter of the food bank’s work. The SCCS organization supports a special Christmas box distribution during the holidays that is separate from its normal operations, Peterson said. SCCS is accepting donations for its Christmas box distribution fund which will supply more than 200 local families with extra holiday food.
