The Town of Cedaredge is giving notice to ditch owners and water users: If their ditches cross Main Street, the upcoming reconstruction project may encounter and possibly even disrupt water delivery.
So the town is asking that people contact city hall now if they have ownership of, or interest in, ditches, or if their irrigation water crosses Main Street between Grand Mesa Drive (Highway 65) and the west town boundary.
Town officials say they will need to know whom to contact if a ditch or irrigation delivery is encountered during the road reconstruction work.
The town's planning commission has been tasked with trying to find out who owns ditches crossing Main Street. The commission has been able to get very little reliable information, and in most cases the town doesn't have any idea what the ditches' names are or how many of them there are.
Faced with a fast-approaching start of the first phase of the town's Main Street improvements (Grand Mesa Drive west to NW 3rd Street), the planning commission is publishing an appeal in the DCI this week asking for help in getting information on ditches: names, ownerships, users, locations, and any other information that may be available.blog comments powered by Disqus
