The week of June 10 was an exciting one for vacation Bible school at the First Baptist Church of Cedaredge.
The children visited SonWest Roundup and the town of Dirt Clod.
The young people studied God's ultimate plan — concerning how Moses was sent to save the Israelites from slavery and how Jesus was sent to save us from sin. There were 134 children enrolled during the week (ages 4 through entering 6th grade) and there was an average attendance per day of 98 children.
This special week would not have been possible without nearly 40 adult and 25 teenage volunteers throughout the week and in preparation for the week. Organizers give a big thank you to these volunteers and the children for making this week possible.
The children contributed nearly 140 pounds of pennies resulting in 24,112 pennies donated to a local family who work with Wycliffe Bible Translators.
The children had a wonderful time and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the daily skits, the daily snacks, recreation, the beautiful music, the western-themed crafts and the daily lessons. Photos were taken of each child and put into a "Wanted for Jesus" frame for Friday's craft. Also, a CD of the VBS music was distributed to each family and the Gideons provided each child with a New Testament.blog comments powered by Disqus
