There was plenty to see and do at Night on the Town, held June 25 at Pioneer Town in Cedaredge.
Anyone checking out the parking lot and seeing the overflow parking near the chapel and blacksmith shop, or walking the town's boardwalks, was well aware that the turnout was outstanding.
Careful advance planning by co-chairmen Chuck Harrington and Les Mergelman, plus assistance from their wives, Jan and Dorothy Jean, led to the successful outcome of the evening's event.
"We are extremely grateful for all of the Pioneer Town volunteers who helped out prior to and during the evening," Harrington said. He also expressed his thanks to Carol Ann Rassmussen, Daphna Russell, Linda Aubrey and Amy Daniels, who demonstrated their specific artistic techniques.
Musicians who entertained throughout the evening were flute player Steve Jueneman, pianist Cherp Roderick, and band members T. Kay, David Starr, Larry Claxton and Paul Frazier.
Mergelman expressed his thanks to all of the local merchants who donated prizes for the scavenger hunt and drawings.
The event, sponsored by Surface Creek Valley Historical Society, proved to be a big success. Board members and volunteers are looking forward to next year's Night on the Town, to be held on the fourth Tuesday in June.blog comments powered by Disqus
