Note: This article is taken from an email from the Cedaredge Area Chamber of Commerce on AppleFest planning and events. It was submitted by Rachel Leonard, Chamber board member.
Applefest is right around the corner. And this year I aim to bring the community into the event.
This year, instead of hosting a second set of musical guests on the Main Street stage, I am seeking local businesses to sponsor events, competitions and activities to increase community involvement in the festival. To give you an idea of what I have in mind, here are a few events that are being sponsored already!
Double J Disposal will sponsor an outhouse stuffing competition, Main Street construction permitting.
Awesome Crossfit will host a strongman/strongwoman competition: location to be determined.
K-9 Capers (Judy Leonard) will host a canine fashion show on Main Street.
The Rotary Club will be there to sell apple pie and perhaps caramel apples.
I have more ideas but need your help. If you have a business, non-profit organization, or just a great idea or would like to help, please contact me for more information.
At this time the Cedaredge Chamber can help promote the event but is fairly limited in regard to prizes or man-power. I'll do everything I can to ensure your business, non-profit, or community event is as successful as possible, so please don't hesitate to call (the Chamber) with questions, suggestions, or support.
Thank you for your time and let's bring people to Cedaredge for an interactive and fun weekend — not for just a few hours!blog comments powered by Disqus
