Nelson's Dollhouse, donated by Maynard Nelson about 13 years ago, has been sitting near the floor on cinder blocks in Doris' Doll & Toy House in Pioneer Town since that time.
Nick and Judy Greear have constructed and painted a base so that the structure sits at a convenient viewing level.
Electrical work is being installed so that ceiling, wall and table lights will be operational.
Judy will be adding Victorian-style furnishings including wallpaper, rugs, mirrors and pictures as funds become available.
Funds are being raised by encouraging individuals and organizations to purchase a piece of Victorian-style furniture or accessory with costs varying, starting at about $10. Or, "Adopt a Room" for about $40 to complete the project. A binder, with photos and prices of pieces to purchase has been assembled and is on display at the Welcome Center and pieces can be selected there.
Judy will be working on the project every Friday afternoon from 1 to 4 p.m. in Doris' Doll & Toy House in Pioneer Town, Cedaredge. Stop by often to watch the progress. She can be contacted at 856-6393 or 250-0913 for more information.
There will be an open house when the project is completed; hopefully that will be in time for the opening of Pioneer Town Museum's 2014 season, at the end of May.blog comments powered by Disqus
