In spite of the frigid temperatures, more than 112 runners took part in the 5th annual AppleFest 5k Run and 2.5k Fitness Walk.
Sponsored by the Cedaredge Boy Scout Troop 482 the event took place on a clear but very chilly Saturday morning, Oct. 5, starting at the Cedaredge Town Park.
The course took the racers on rural roads, past several of Cedaredge's famous apple orchards. The Cedaredge Police Department, the Delta County Sheriff's Department and an ambulance were on hand for safety's sake and the runners and walkers finished in time to enjoy the pancake breakfast.
