Cedaredge's 2014 budget of $3.7 million was adopted by the town board on Dec. 12.
Anticipated revenues will be $3.63 million.
Excess spending compared with revenues is made up from cash in fund balances built up in previous years.
In the general fund, $1.47 million of expenditures are set against $1.42 million in revenue.
The water fund, capital improvement fund, and (lottery) trust fund will also have small deficits. The golf course budget, bolstered by an anticipated $28,000 in user fee payments from a new restaurant concessionaire, is expected under the plan to be slightly in the black next year.
The town administration's budget message highlighted several points including the following ones:
• A $17,000 expenditure for a newly remodeled council chambers and municipal court room;
• Purchase of three new shotguns for the police department at $550 each;
• Purchase of a new police car.
The budget has $901,210 labor expenses in the general fund including the police department; $230,114 for labor in the water fund; $183,055 in the sewer fund; $233,972 in the golf course fund; and an accumulated total labor cost for the town in 2014 of $1.54 million.
