Cedaredge High School's volleyball team currently owns a 6-5 overall record and is 2-1 in 3A WSL play following last week's action. The Lady Bruins played winless Hotchkiss, 0-11 and 0-5 of Class 2A, and prevailed 3-0 in the non-conference matchup.
Thursday's visit to Olathe (9-2 and 3-0) ended up a 3-1 loss for the Cedaredge crew.
CHS 3, HHS 0
Cedaredge had its biggest margin of victory in the opening set of last week's volleyball match against Hotchkiss with a 25-15 decision.
Set two was the closest of the evening between the two schools, with the Lady Bruins winning 25-23.
The deciding third set was a 25-21 win for Cedaredge.
Cedaredge had 31 kills in the contest against the Lady Bulldogs. Summer Herman led the way with eight kills and Kenzie Henderson followed closely with seven. Rebecca Deal had six kills for Cedaredge.
Herman and Henderson had three service aces apiece to lead in that department. Both had three aces against Hotchkiss.
Deal finished with four blocks for the Lady Bruins.
Hotchkiss did not have match statistics available for this match.
Olathe 3, Cedaredge 1
Olathe was solid in the first set with a 25-18 win over the visiting Lady Bruins.
Cedaredge held on to take set two by a 25-23 score and faded in the last two sets, losing 25-14 and 25-9.
The Lady Bruins will play in Gunnison on Tuesday (Oct. 1) at 6 p.m. A Saturday match against Rifle is set to begin at 3 p.m.
Next week's schedule shows yet another long trip for Cedaredge as it travels to Craig to face Moffat County on Tuesday (Oct. 8) where they are slated to start play at 5 p.m.blog comments powered by Disqus
