Valor Christian and Longmont battled in first-round play at Delta High School with the Eagles advancing to take on Delta after their 6-1 win over Thomas Jefferson.
Valor Christian won the regional final with an explosive offensive effort by a 15-0 score. The Eagles hammered five home runs in the five-inning contest.

The Panthers had three players who had two hits in the game against Thomas Jefferson. Jeremiah Baier led the way with two hits in two at bats, including a double, and three RBIs.
Tyler Sandoval was another two-for-two hitter on the day with a triple and an RBI. Marcus Garcia had two hits and scored twice for the Panthers.
Delta started off with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first and added three more runs in the third and one in the fifth to account for all of the Panthers' scoring.
Thomas Jefferson put one run on the scoreboard in the top of the fourth inning making the final score 6-1. The line score shows Delta with six runs on nine hits and no errors.
The Spartans had one run on seven hits and no errors.
The Spartans got a pair of hits from D. Peterson to spark their offense.
Isaiah Kathrein picked up the win, allowing one run and striking out six batters. C. Bowermaster took the loss for the Spartans.

The Eagles' Nick Merten spun a three-hitter to help Valor Christian roll to a 15-0 win over 4A WSL runner-up Delta.
Keaton Reiher, Sandoval and Easton Byers had singles for the Panthers.
A four-run first inning got the Eagles off and running and they never looked back.
A double from Dan Lund started the game, with Daniel Butler clearing the left centerfield with a home run for a 2-0 Eagles lead. Valor Christian struck for two more runs on three hits in the inning to lead 4-0 going to the second inning.
In the second inning, Justin Falls led off with a double for the Eagles and Butler stepped to the plate and hit his second straight home run to make the score 6-0.
Hayden Gerlach was up next and he, too, ripped a home run to left field and a 7-0 lead.
Two batters later, Greg Popylisen stroked a triple and later scored on a grounder to first base on a fielder's choice.
Lund hit a home run in the top of the third and Gerlach hit his second straight dinger of the game to make the score 11-0.
A single run in the fourth and three more in the fifth ended the game by 10-run rule.
Valor Christian had 15 hits in the rout.
Gerlach had three hits and three RBIs and Butler had two hits and four RBIs. Marco Castilla, Vinny Castilla's son, had two hits and four RBIs as well.
Vinny Castilla was in attendance at the Valor Christian game and spoke to many of the fans who were fortunate enough to recognize him.
