Paonia opened league competition Friday with a 47-0 routing of Roaring Fork.
The Eagles rushed for 506 yards and five touchdowns in the win.
William Austin rushed for 190 yards and one touchdown, and Taylor Walters had 21 carries for 162 yards and three touchdowns. Gunnar Chesnik added 95 yards and one touchdown in seven carries.
Sophomore running back Nick Brewer had one carry, a 55-yard touchdown run.
While Paonia stuck to its running game, freshman quarterback Dagan Rienks completed one of two passes, throwing a 20-yard touchdown pass into the hands of Logan Schopp.
On defense, Chesnik completed five solo and six assisted tackles, and tackle Jared Byrge had five solo tackles.
Freshman Blake Benson had one sack for a loss of 5 yards. Freshman place kicker Colby Simpson booted five of six PATs in the win.
Paonia will host Meeker and quarterback Jake Phelan this Friday at 7 p.m.
The Cowboys (5-0 overall, 1-0, 1A Western Slope League) and are the only undefeated team in the conference after last week's 46-0 win over Lake County.
