Vendors, volunteers are needed

Applications are now available for food, craft and antique vendors and musicians for the Museum of the Mountain West's fourth annual "Tribute to Western Movies Day." This year's event will be held from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Saturday, June 8, on the museum grounds, U.S. Highway 50 East and Miami Road, Montrose.

“Li’l Kids” camp set

Panther coaches Matt Hamm and Von Mitchell are announcing three basketball camps to be offered at Delta High School in the month of May. The first "Li'l Kids" camp will be for boys and girls in the first through third grades from 8:30-10:30 a.m. on May 28, 29, and 30.

Hikes showcase public lands

This spring The Conservation Center is teaming up with local conservation organizations to offer a series of guided hikes to showcase public lands throughout Delta County.

"The hikes will provide a wonderful opportunity to learn about some of Delta County's most beautiful and unique places," says Sarah Sauter, hike organizer and director of The Conservation Center.

Two local Plant Master courses being offered

The Native Plant Master Courses are small field-taught courses focusing on identifying native plants and plant families, environmental stewardship, and habitat-threatening noxious weeds. Participants learn to use a dichotomous key for identification, and to identify plants by botanical names.
