Senior CommUnity meals listed May 1, 2013

Senior CommUnity meals are served at four dining sites in Delta County — Cedaredge Community Center (Monday-Thursday), Delta Community Center (Monday-Friday), Hotchkiss Senior Center (Monday-Thursday) and Paonia Senior Citizen Center (Monday, Wednesday and Friday). Meals on Wheels are also delivered from each location.

Benefit planned for Ryan family

Pioneer Propane is hosting a benefit auction for the family of Pastor Jeff Ryan. Pastor Ryan died suddenly, leaving his wife and three small children with unexpected expenses.

The benefit will be Saturday, June 1, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pioneer Propane, 743 1325 Road, Delta.

“Li’l Kids” camp set

Panther coaches Matt Hamm and Von Mitchell are announcing three basketball camps to be offered at Delta High School in the month of May. The first "Li'l Kids" camp will be for boys and girls in the first through third grades from 8:30-10:30 a.m. on May 28, 29, and 30.

Vendors, volunteers are needed

Applications are now available for food, craft and antique vendors and musicians for the Museum of the Mountain West's fourth annual "Tribute to Western Movies Day." This year's event will be held from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Saturday, June 8, on the museum grounds, U.S. Highway 50 East and Miami Road, Montrose.

Two local Plant Master courses being offered

The Native Plant Master Courses are small field-taught courses focusing on identifying native plants and plant families, environmental stewardship, and habitat-threatening noxious weeds. Participants learn to use a dichotomous key for identification, and to identify plants by botanical names.
