Cedaredge resident Ira Joseph Hutchinson died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017, at his home. He was 87.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at the True Life Church (formerly Cedaredge Assembly of God), with Pastor Bob Hillyer officiating.
Mr. Hutchinson was born in Detroit, Mich., April 28, 1930, to Joseph and Claira (Snyder) Hutchinson. He spent his childhood in Detroit and in Denver.
On Aug. 5, 1951, he married Shirley Craighead in Denver.
He was a custom home builder and enjoyed woodworking, making furniture, camping and traveling. He was a member of True Life Church in Cedaredge.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Shirley Hutchinson of Cedaredge; son, Lee Hutchinson of Cedaredge; daughter, Judy Hutchinson (Ron Wood) of Louisburg, Kan.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Leona Dale.

On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
